I grew uo in Coney Island Brooklyn. When the movie came out we went to the Oceania theater in Brighton Beach (the hood next to Coney Island) to see it. I swear the city of New York was fighting mad. Gangs vs Gangs. Actually the main gangs in Coney Island at the time were "The Crazy homicides" and they where crazy and the "savage skulls". Regarding the vests the gangs wore back than. It is equal to your sweaters in chicago. Leather vests w/no sleeves and your gang on the back. Just like the warriors.

As to how I found this site, I was cliking around looking for the warriors and found a link to the Gaylords. I hope you don't mind a New Yorker posting. You Gaylords held it down!!!Reminds me of exactly what happened to the Brooklyn I grew up in (Born in 68)We got pushed out but still fought the fight. eventually immigration overwhelmed us. Off to the suburbs.

How come the Blog's isn't more active. new news and more intersting and enlighting stuff. I know the reason its faded away but that was like a year ago. I know the message board took over all the talk and responses. I guess their both the same, nevermind. I just wanted to put up something new on the Blog. I got sick of seeing the number 6. Now were at 7 in thia post. I like the number 7 better.
