""…If I did venture up there, I would need a gun in case it was a setup or something. I didn’t know if the suspicious intruders would turn out to be playing a game of entrapment. They lure you in and then the game is all over for you…”

A compelling story, based on actual events, of one young man’s struggle to survive the urban nightmare of gang life in Chicago. Starting by giving the reader a reviting look into the often disturbing history of the gang he was a member of, Scott goes on to narrate the gripping story of his life as a gang-member. Whether you live in a city or not, whether you have kids or not, this book is a must-read. Violence, poverty, drug abuse, and frustration combine to fuel the undercurrents of gang culture that affect us all!

To Whom It May Concern,

I'm a graduate journalism student at Northwestern University and am looking to do a piece on The Gaylord Gang for my reporting class. Do you know if there is anyone I can talk to to learn more?
Thanks,

I was around durring the earliest days of the KP Gaylords, when they kicked the Popes out of the neighborhood around the park in 1970 - 71. I took many of them into the inner city and taught them the tricks of my trade. Whoever it is that put this site together knows not of which he speaks. I know because I was there. Stone cold to the bone until I was saved in 1977. I have more color pictures of captured gang sweaters (colors) from the period between 1969 and 1975 then anyone I've seen boasting on the net about Chicago gangs. I've got captured jam cards as well as membership cards from some of the deadliest street gangs in the city.
