The purpose of this website is not to glamorize street gangs, and the violence or criminal actions brought about by them. It was also not created for any criminal intent, such as recruiting membership in to any street gangs. This website was developed for the purpose of explaining, documenting and defining one of Chicago's white gangs, known as the GAYLORDS. This gang is no longer street active as it once was. Retired members of this gang have put this site together to give the general public, or society as a whole; an idea of what it was like to have lived this type of lifestyle. Much information can be learned about gangs by other sources, but here is placed before you; an inside view looking out. Those who have contributed to this website hope that the reader leaves with a better understanding of why and how a gang feels it necessary to exist. Consequently, an answer to ending street gang violence in general, sadly will not be found here. However, maybe through understanding one gang, ideas for solutions may develop. There was also another reason that this website was created. That reason was to pay honor and remembrance to loved ones who were lost. So, please visit our memorial page to honor or reflect on the lives of young men who have passed on due to the survival and viciousness of the city streets.
