I WOULD LIKE TO THANK ROCKER ON A GREAT BOOK AND GAYLORD REUNION- BOOK PARTY. I ONLY GOT TO KNOW ROCKER JUST RECENTLY AND I WISH WE WOULD HAVE KNOWN EACH OTHER DURING OUR BANGIN' DAYS. CAUSE OF ROCKER I HAD THE HONOR OF MEETING GAYLORDS I HAVE NEVER MET AND GAYLORDS I HAVN'T SEEN IN A LONG TIME. BUTCHER FROM ST.LOUIS AND ALTGELD - STONER FROM KILBOURN PARK - APE AND LIL DUCK FROM
SAYRE PARK - SKULLY, MEX, STOSH, AND NIP FROM NEWPORT STREET - WOODY FROM REINBERG SCHOOL - LIL HUSTLER, BUZZ FROM SEELEY AND AINSLIE - AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST "ROCKER L-A-G-L" WHO MADE THIS ALL POSSIBLE, HATS OFF TO YOU BROTHER.HONKEY, NONO, INSANE, GERONIMO, STICKY, SHOTGUN, AND LIL HUSTLER LIVES ON! R.I.P. S-A-G-L / CAPONE
SUP GAYLORDS I KNOW SH_T HASNT BEEN GOIN WELL AMONGST US BUT I HAVE TO COMPLIMENT USES ON THAT MEMORIAL WALK NICE TO SEE GAYLORDS IN THE OLD HOOD IT WOULD REALLY LOOK NICE WITH UR SWEATERS ON BUT MAYBE NEXT TIME TO ME THE MEMORIAL WALK IS A NOBLE CAUSE!

P.S CRAZY A_S SKULLY IN THE BACK FLASHIN AT SOME FOLKS THAT NIGGA ALWAYS CRAZY
HAHHAHAHAHAH
Wasssup GL's. First I like to give a big props to the the Memorial walk that you put up on the web page. The pictures of the street corners bring back some fun and bad memories. I'm
40 now and retired but I gangbanged well into my mid and late 20's. I remember all the fights that we use to have on Belden/Ridgeway,Centra l pk and Fullerton, RidgeWay and Fullerton, Bernard and Fullerton. Back then, we banged to protect our turfs, our colors, and our pride, not for drugs or power like the gangs today. It was like Westside story but now and days
everyone wants to be like New Jack City. It doesn't take a man to pull a trigger cause anyone can pull a trigger. A real man would march up to Fulleton and Ridgeway and try to go heads
up with an LAGL. You guys from LA put up a hell of a fight against all folks and when LAGL were all gone the excitement left too. all the folks started to fight against each other and we all know how that turned out. Much respect from Oldschool Belden/Drake AIG Ralphi "7"

I REMEMBER OLD LENNIES AS A GREASER HANG OUT, WHERE ALL WHITE STREET GANGS HANGED, LIKE THE GAYLORDS, ROYALS, C-NOTES, C-WEST, POPES, AND THE PLAYBOYS,BACK THEN WE WERE ALL TOGETHER AT LANE AND OUR ALLIANCE WAS STRONG, YES AT THE END THE ALLIANCE HAD A LOT OF BACK STABBING ON BOTH SIDES.

This book is great, makes you feel as though your right in the thick of things as if your behind him as he makes his way through all the stories. This book is must read, knowing this neighborhood make it just that much more exciting.

wat up to all my gl and jouster brothers. not many still claiming but never forgotten. rip cruzer and rip bishop and bigit.i still represent and never forgotwere and who i stand for. hop to see more brothers out for 712. im lookin forward to it. just met a jouster that did 15 years in the pen in cook county. stay up brothers and almighty till i die.newport lil chisti

THE GRAND AND NOBLE BOYS STARTED IN THE 80S AFTER THE GLs HAD DIED OUT OVER
THERE. A LOT OF THEM WERE GAYLORDS SONS. THEY WERE ALLIED WITH THE C- NOTES FOR WHILE THEN THEY DIED OUT IN THE MID 90S.

I ALSO FORGOT TO MENTION NEWPORT AND KARLOV(SORRY SKULLY) AND KILDARE AND FULLERTON WHO WERE AT THE PARTY ON SATURDAY

I found this web site from class mates.Com. I grew up in the Lawrence and Damen area. I remember when "Honky was shot and killed and the "Honky lives on" spray painted on the huge empty lot wall on Lawrence and Seeley. I as a young kid knew some of these guys well as they were family friends kids. It was not until I saw one of my dads best friends brother beat a guys head into the side of a city bus and the killing of Honky that I realized they were maybe not as innocent as I had once thought. I over the years watched the faces change and the gangs become more violent that I realized that the times were changing. Some that I knew from the gangs moved on to normal lives, some a life of drugs and alcohol. I now live in California and my husband and myself are firefighters for the cities of Oakland and Richmond. We see a whole different kind of gangs than when I was young. Senseless killings are a daily event. Just last week in Richmond a 18 year old star football player leaving for college (the very next day!) on a full scholarship was gunned down and killed by 15 and 17 year olds. No real motive except maybe jealousy. Gone are the days of innocence. I visit Chicago as often as I can and even the neighborhoods look different. Well, thanks for the memories. Sincerely, Evette (Amundsen H. S. Alumni)
I read on this message board that there exists a GL Social Club. Can someone send me more info? M
